The Kaleidoscopic Me

Overlapping my portraits, each representing a different emotion and stage of my life, I merge and blur facets of my personality and growth, reflecting a layered complexity of who I am beneath the surface. Each individual portrait is tinted in a different hue and exhibits a different expression. A smile. A serious gaze. A confused eyebrow raise. The juxtaposition of these different sentiments reflect a paradox of the inner identity and the outer identity. Inspired by the animation Inside Out, I resonate with the importance of having a range of emotions, both positive and negative, that make us who we are. Finding a balance between both sides of the emotional spectrum remains important to one’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
