So Long, Farewell
2023. Oil on Canvas, 16" x 20"
Hazy windows of trains, buses, and airplanes have been my constant companion, reflecting my face against passing landscapes from Toronto to New York. Raindrops slide down the glass, blurring distant car lights and forming a hazy effect, mirroring my heart’s fluctuation that combines uncertainty and anticipation of the future. Pressing my hand against the window, I hold onto the familiar scenery, as the vehicle moves into the distance, leaving a trail of blurring orange car lights in the rain. Portraying my determination and courage to embrace new beginnings, I reflect upon my bittersweet journey of moving.
