2022. Ink and Pigment Watercolor on Rice-Paper, 12" x 20"

Inspired by the bird-and-flower painting tradition of Chinese ink painting, I combined the traditional painting style with watercolor techniques to depict a narrow gap between the canyon symbolizing hope and opportunity. White birds soar through this gap, embodying freedom and the pursuit of a greater, broader world. The composition captures nature’s power and tranquility, but it also aims to reflect the human desire to break free and explore beyond our human limitations.
