To me, art is a language beyond words. It transcends boundaries. It is a way to communicate my view of the world, my reflections, my internal struggles, and the matters that I believe are important to call attention to. Every time the paint hits the canvas, I recognize that my art holds the power to inspire change, illuminate various voices, and bridge gaps. Practicing a range of mediums from Chinese ink painting, watercolor, oil paint, to mix-media since elementary school, my understanding of art and my stylistic choices are influenced by my practice of those mediums combined. In my optional arts portfolio, I have selected examples from each of the mediums and my experimentation working with novel art mediums or surfaces.
